SEC schedules first Reg Crypto rulemaking vote for Friday meeting
The SEC published a Sunshine Act notice for an Aug. 14 open meeting to propose a tailored offering regime for certain crypto investment contracts. It would mark the agency’s first major formal crypto rulemaking and kicks off a public comment process after the Senate’s August delay on market-structure legislation.

Riot signs $9.1 billion Anthropic pact, accelerating miners’ pivot toward AI
Riot shares jumped after the company signed a 20-year agreement to provide Anthropic with 191 megawatts of compute capacity, a deal valued at $9.1 billion with potential extensions to $16.1 billion. The contract underlines how listed Bitcoin miners are chasing steadier AI-infrastructure revenue and may redirect capital and power away from pure mining.

Bitcoin-backed corporate lending expands as MARA collateralizes holdings instead of selling
Two Prime says listed companies are increasingly borrowing against bitcoin instead of selling it, with MARA pledging 18,750 BTC to secure $600 million in loans. Larger facilities, longer maturities and more tailored terms suggest BTC-collateralized corporate finance is becoming a standard treasury tool.

Bitcoin whale wallets hit six-month high as smaller holders keep selling
Wallets holding at least 10,000 BTC rose to 90, the highest count in six months, while Santiment says 10-to-10,000 BTC wallets have added about $1.5 billion since July 29. The shift from smaller holders to large wallets is typically read as a constructive on-chain signal ahead of a bigger price move.

$BTC: In midterm election years, the August crash has historically begun in the first or second week of the month.

According to history, it begins soon.

Will it happen again? https://t.co/8foWPoi5Ek

Something interesting is happening with Bitcoin.

The number of wallets holding at least 10,000 $BTC has climbed to 90, the highest level in six months, according to Santiment.

At the same time, smaller holders have been reducing their exposure. That kind of divergence is worth paying attention to.

Could be nothing, but historically, I’d rather watch what the big holders are doing than follow the crowd.
