Bitcoin ETF inflow streak hits eight days as August passes $3 billion
|
|
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs logged an eighth straight day of net inflows, taking August's haul above $3 billion and making it the strongest month of 2026 so far. The streak reinforces the view that institutional demand is still absorbing volatility even after bitcoin's sharp rebound back toward $80,000.

Warsh faces Jackson Hole pressure to clarify inflation fight and rate path
|
|
Economists and investors are pressing new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh to explain how he would respond if inflation stays stubbornly high when he speaks at Jackson Hole on Friday. His lack of clarity after the last meeting has left markets uncertain over whether higher long-end yields can substitute for tighter policy or whether another hike remains possible.

SEC revives crypto custody rule and sends changes for White House review
|
|
The SEC has restarted work on a crypto custody rule for investment advisers, sending proposed changes for White House review after an earlier version stalled. The effort could reshape which institutions may hold client digital assets and how advisers access crypto exposure under U.S. securities rules.

BlackRock says bitcoin's risk-off case is gaining traction with institutions
|
|
BlackRock digital-assets chief Robbie Mitchnick said bitcoin's long-run case is as a scarce, decentralized monetary alternative that can benefit when debt, deficits and currency debasement dominate markets. The comments matter because they come from the largest U.S. spot bitcoin ETF issuer just as inflows have reaccelerated and bitcoin's correlation with equities has eased.

This is a positive step in the right direction... BUT
This isn't a "Bitcoin backed mortgage."
I've been saying this since March when this product was introduced.
This is a standard, conventional mortgage that requires you to qualify with proper debt-to-income ratios, credit scores, and verified W2 income, stable job, etc., etc.
The mortgage is no different than 97% of all mortgages already in existence.
All down-payments are cash. What you sell or borrow off of to get that cash is irrelevant.
You can get a Bitcoin loan at any one of dozens of places (Strike, Ledn, etc.). You take that cash and give it to the seller as the down payment on your purchase..
Technically... that's all this is. No different.
Again... great narrative. And a step in the right direction.
But a Bitcoin-backed mortgage is a product that does not require credit scores, income verification, or a W2 job.
Bitcoin is already perfect collateral, so a Bitcoin-backed mortgage requires nothing more than... (drumroll)... BITCOIN!
Coinbase's product simply gives you a Bitcoin loan. You take that cash and then go through the standard hoops to get a mortgage.

π΄ During this rally toward $80,000, STH didnβt hesitate to already take profit.
The amount of bitcoin:native sent by STH surpassed 60,000 BTC on August 20th.
π₯ All of this BTC was in profit at the time. This was the strongest STH movement of recent months.
Profit taking continues but has significantly slowed down now, with 16,300 BTC sent to exchanges in profit over the last 24h.
π Itβs important that their sell pressure keeps decreasing if we want Bitcoin to manage to hold these levels.

JACKSON HOLE COULD BE THE BIGGEST EVENT FOR CRYPTO THIS WEEK.
Tomorrow, Kevin Warsh will deliver his first speech there as Fed Chair.
New Fed chairs use the Jackson Hole stage to set the tone for what comes next, and that alone moves markets. In 2025, Powell sounded dovish, and crypto pumped hard that same day.
Why it matters:
A hawkish tone means rate hike fears, and we dump. A dovish tone means rate cut hopes, and we pump.
This year's theme is financial innovation, so Warsh is expected to talk about stablecoins and crypto directly. That makes this the first Jackson Hole that could move crypto on policy alone.
All eyes on tomorrow as Warsh's speech sets the market tone heading into September.
