BIP-110 minority chain stalls as Bitcoin mainnet extends lead after split
Bitcoin’s long-telegraphed BIP-110 showdown turned into a live chain split on August 8, but the minority chain quickly fell behind as the main network kept producing blocks normally. With only about 2.5% recent miner signaling, the fork looked unlikely to gain traction, reducing market fallout but keeping replay-risk and governance questions in focus.

Senate tees up September Clarity Act vote after Thune files cloture
Just before the August recess, Senate Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed to the Clarity Act, setting up a September 15 vote when lawmakers return. The move keeps the bill alive, but unresolved fights over ethics, illicit-finance language and committee text show U.S. crypto market-structure reform is still far from settled.

U.S. Bitcoin and Ether ETFs log strongest inflow week since April
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in about $853.5 million last week while spot ether ETFs added roughly $244.9 million, their best combined showing since mid-April. The rebound suggests institutional demand has improved even though trading volumes stayed subdued, leaving open the question of whether the turn is durable.

BTCPay flaw drains Lightning nodes, extending Bitcoin’s worst software week
BTCPay warned merchants using LND to patch immediately or go offline after attackers exploited a credential exposure flaw and swept funds from affected Lightning nodes. The incident did not hit BTCPay’s standard on-chain wallets, but it added fresh security stress to Bitcoin’s infrastructure stack during an already fragile week for operators.

Brazil orders 24-hour holds on large outbound crypto transfers starting in 2027
Brazil’s central bank will require exchanges to delay some transfers to foreign platforms and self-custody wallets for up to 24 hours, with the rule applying to transactions above $10,000 and smaller transfers flagged as risky. The measure underscores how anti-fraud policy is increasingly shaping crypto rails and could raise costs for compliant cross-border users.

Your employees are connecting AI to everything. Now what?

ChatGPT and Claude don't just answer questions anymore. Employees are connecting them directly to Notion, Linear, Jira, and the rest of your stack. The AI can read, write, and take actions on company data. Most IT and security teams have no visibility into any of it.

Harmonic Security Connectors changes that. It sits inline with every AI-to-app connection, so you see each call, control what data moves, and block destructive actions before they happen. Employees notice nothing different.

See what's actually running across your business in a live demo.

PSA 🚨 Google is currently selling its top sponsored ad slot for "Trezor wallet" searches to a phishing site, not Trezor.

At least one user reports losing his life savings after typing his recovery seed into it. Google took payment for the ad space. The scammer took his Bitcoin.

Trezor has confirmed it and is fighting for a takedown. Google's ad review somehow missed a wallet drainer buying a paid placement above the real company's own website.

Never type your seed phrase into any website, ever. Bookmark your wallet's official site instead of Googling it, sponsored slots get bought by scammers and Google keeps cashing the check.

$BTC today: $64,918
Current power-law z-score: βˆ’1.16

That puts BTC in the historical βˆ’1.5 to βˆ’1.0 z bucket.

From that zone, the historical median 1-year return is +156.3%.

That implies a 1-year price of roughly:

$64,918 Γ— 2.563 = $166K

That is about 2.56Γ— from here.

$BTC is at the point where historical downside deviations become rare, while upside deviations have historically been many times larger.

The real question is: how long can Bitcoin stay this cheap?

Every time Bitcoin has hit the STH Realized Price during this bear market, a huge correction has followed.

The current Short-Term Holder Realized Price is $68,000.

Do you think it will happen again? https://t.co/ZGHcZtRCVV
