Red Sea tanker attacks push Brent above $100 and deepen Bitcoin’s inflation problem
Trump threatened major military punishment after Houthi strikes on two Saudi tankers extended the Iran war from Hormuz into the Red Sea. Brent jumped more than 6% and broke above $100 a barrel, sharply worsening the inflation backdrop that Bitcoin has been trading against.

Oil shock and tariffs drive bond yields higher before next week’s Fed meeting
Reuters reported Friday that long-dated U.S. yields stayed near cycle highs as oil spiked and new tariffs worsened inflation fears, while a separate Reuters report said the Fed’s July 28-29 meeting is now unfolding against a more hawkish backdrop. That combination is a direct headwind for Bitcoin because it lifts real-rate and dollar pressure across risk assets.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs suffer $225 million outflow, ending seven-day recovery streak
Farside’s July 23 table shows U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs lost $225.1 million net, ending a seven-session run that had nearly restored institutional momentum. The reversal matters because ETF flows have been the market’s clearest real-time read on marginal demand during July’s rebound.

BitMEX sets September shutdown, marking the end of a crypto derivatives pioneer
BitMEX said it will sunset its exchange on September 23 at 04:00 UTC and will progressively force-close positions to wind down markets in an orderly way. The closure removes a once-systemic derivatives venue and underscores how much market share and structure have migrated since the previous cycle.

Poolin files Chapter 11 and seeks sale of Texas mining operations
Poolin’s parent filed Chapter 11 and is seeking court approval to sell U.S. mining assets through a $52 million stalking-horse bid. The filing lists roughly $173.1 million of prepetition obligations, including about $163.7 million in unsecured IOUs tied to its 2022 wallet freeze, keeping legacy mining-bust overhang alive in 2026.

$BTC below 200W EMA has been the long-term accumulation zone.

So far, Bitcoin is following the 4-year cycle, so it's logical to expect a bottom in Q4.

But just like ETF approval pushed BTC to a new ATH before halving (which never happened before), Clarity Act approval may also change the dynamics.
