SpaceX’s Nasdaq debut exposed 18,712 BTC held as a strategic cash reserve, worth about $1.29 billion as of March 31. Because SpaceX is not a Bitcoin proxy business, its first public earnings cycles will test whether mega-cap issuers can hold BTC as an ordinary treasury asset rather than a core corporate identity.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted roughly $85.8 million of net inflows on Friday, snapping a five-session run of redemptions. The rebound matters because ETF flows have been one of Bitcoin’s clearest institutional demand gauges in 2026, and the complex is also nearing $2 trillion in cumulative trading volume.
A Coinbase-convened panel of prominent cryptographers said Bitcoin should begin planning a migration toward post-quantum signatures now, even if quantum computers are not yet an immediate threat. The hardest unresolved question is what to do about millions of exposed coins, including early addresses linked to Satoshi Nakamoto.
