U.S. midterm voting opens with Congress control and fiscal path at stake

Tether says it holds 150,000 bitcoin, expanding corporate-scale BTC firepower
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company now holds about 150,000 BTC, roughly 50,000 more than implied by its latest USDT reserve report. That would place Tether among the world’s largest disclosed corporate bitcoin holders and further tighten the link between stablecoin infrastructure and bitcoin balance-sheet demand.

🚨 The US midterm elections are today.

Control of Congress is at stake, and the result could move stocks, crypto, bonds and the dollar.

Here are the possible scenarios:

1. If Republicans win both chambers:

• Stocks and AI companies could benefit from continued deregulation and policy support.
• Crypto legislation could face fewer political obstacles.
• Bond yields could rise if markets expect more government borrowing and spending.
• The U.S. dollar could strengthen if yields rise.

2. If Democrats win both chambers:

• AI and Big Tech could face tougher oversight and investigations.
• Trump's tax and spending plans could face more resistance.
• Crypto legislation could face longer negotiations.
• Budget and debt ceiling disputes could increase market volatility.

3. If Democrats win the House but Republicans keep the Senate:

• Major legislation could become harder to pass.
• Markets could face more uncertainty over government funding and the debt ceiling.
• Stocks could benefit from fewer major policy changes, although political deadlock could create short-term volatility.

4. If Republicans win the House but Democrats take the Senate:

• Republicans could retain control of spending legislation in the House.
• Senate confirmation and legislative priorities could face more resistance.
• Markets could price in slower policy changes and more political negotiations.

5. If results are extremely close or delayed:

• Stocks, bonds and the dollar could experience short-term volatility.
• Uncertainty could continue until control of Congress becomes clear.

One important thing, a Democratic win does not automatically mean stocks crash, and a Republican win does not guarantee a rally.

Historically, U.S. stocks have performed well after midterms regardless of which party controls Congress.

Every midterm in history, Bitcoin DUMPS then PUMPS...

Since 2014, every US midterm election has followed the same pattern for BTC:

2014: −50% in 71 days, +24.5% a year later
2018: −50% in 38 days, +44.9% a year later
2022: −25% in 13 days, +92.3% a year later

2026 will put that to test.

“Just wait for the next black swan. Bitcoin will collapse.”

Bro, have you been asleep all year?

• Iran war.
• CLARITY Act blocked.
• First Fed hike in 3 years.
• Treasury yields at 19-year highs.
• Strategy sold 6,916 BTC.
• COLDCARD exploited.
• Ledger reseller devices compromised.
• Binance hacked for $6.3 BILLION.

All in ONE year.

I genuinely don’t think people realize how much bad news this market has absorbed.

At some point, you have to wonder how many sellers are even left.
