Binance postmortem reveals months-long North Korea-linked breach behind record crypto theft
|
|
Binance published its first technical account of the October 29 breach, saying attackers spent months combining a supply-chain compromise, fake recruiting interviews and internal access abuse before exploiting wallet-signing infrastructure and Ethereum's EIP-7702 mechanism. The exchange said 98% of affected assets had been replenished by November 3 and about $2.85 billion had been frozen or intercepted, limiting immediate balance-sheet fallout but keeping security risk front and center for the market.

Block discloses $764 million DOJ accord as bitcoin economics weaken
|
|
Block disclosed in its quarterly filing that it has reached an agreement in principle with the Justice Department on a deferred prosecution agreement tied to anti-money-laundering controls, with an expected net payment of about $764 million. The filing also showed bitcoin ecosystem economics remained thin relative to the broader business, underscoring how regulatory costs can overwhelm crypto-linked profit pools at major fintech platforms.

U.S. job openings hold near 7.5 million as quits rise
|
|
The latest JOLTS report showed U.S. job openings little changed at 7.5 million in September, while quits rose to 3.4 million and layoffs held roughly steady. That mix points to a labor market that is still not fully cooling ahead of Friday's payrolls report, keeping Fed policy expectations in play for bitcoin macro traders.

Moscow Exchange advances sanctioned Russian crypto market with bitcoin and USDT
|
|
A fresh CoinDesk report highlighted that sanctioned Moscow Exchange plans to open trading in bitcoin, ether and USDT in December, creating a new sanctions-compliance test for market plumbing around Russian crypto access. The story matters less for immediate global flows than for the precedent it sets at the intersection of bitcoin liquidity, sanctions policy and stablecoin controls.

For people bearish Bitcoin because of Democrats
Dont forget the Bitcoin ETF was approved under previous Democrats not Republicans
An secondly Democrats spending plans for welfare, entitlements etc will be much bigger with much higher tax plans so if they win - it only causes more fiscal concerns which only elevates Bitcoins role
Another way to say - the midterms are a nothing burger

Decent spot buying for $BTC right now.
It seems like Democrats' win was mostly priced in. https://t.co/DOLFwSZSV1

🇺🇸 INSIGHT: Bitcoin has gained an average median return of 63% in the 12 months following every US midterm election since 2010, according to CryptoQuant.
BTC rose 36.8% after the 2014 midterms, 45.8% after 2018, and 80.8% after 2022.
However, CryptoQuant warns the pattern may reflect Bitcoin’s four-year halving cycle rather than election results, with 2026 showing a different trend.

BREAKING: The U.S. is reportedly preparing for an imminent attack on Iran as a massive airlift of advanced air defense systems rushes into southern Israel from Fort Bliss and Ramstein Air Base, per flight-tracking data.
Multiple USAF C-17 cargo aircraft, including RCH748, departed military hubs in Texas, staged through Ramstein Air Base in Germany, and touched down at Nevatim and Ovda airbases in the Negev before immediately returning to Europe.
The same airlift pattern was observed in the days before the previous strike on Iran. Washington is rapidly replenishing THAAD and Patriot anti-missile batteries in southern Israel, positioning layered defenses ahead of an expected wave of Iranian ballistic missile retaliation.

🚨 EVERY CRYPTO HOLDER SHOULD READ THIS
Democrats have won control of both the House and Senate, and this could be a major setback for Trump's agenda and the crypto market.
Trump will remain President, but he is about to lose much of the support in Congress that helped him push his policies forward.
Here's what could change:
1. New laws: Trump will need Democratic support to pass major legislation. His Republican majority will no longer be there to help him.
2. Government spending: Democrats can block new funding for Trump's projects, including border-wall expansion and other major spending plans.
3. Tax cuts: New tax cuts and other economic policies could face much stronger opposition.
4. Appointments: Democrats can block Trump's choices for judges and senior government positions through the Senate.
5. Iran war: Congress could restrict new military funding, making it harder for Trump to finance an extended conflict.
6. AI companies: Democrats have already proposed opposing taxpayer bailouts if the AI bubble collapses. Their proposal warns about trillions in AI-related debt and the risks to the wider stock market.
7. Investigations: Democrats will have greater power to investigate Trump's administration and could even begin impeachment proceedings.
But crypto could be one of the biggest areas affected.
The crypto industry spent enormous amounts trying to get supportive politicians elected.
Fairshake alone spent nearly $196 million during the 2024 elections.
And even with Republicans controlling Congress, Trump's major crypto market-structure bill, the CLARITY Act, failed to advance in the Senate in September.
It received only 50 votes, falling short of the 60 needed.
Now Democrats will control both chambers.
That could mean:
• New crypto-friendly laws becoming even harder to pass.
• More pressure for stricter rules on exchanges, stablecoins, and DeFi.
• Greater investigations into crypto companies and Trump's own crypto-related businesses.
• More uncertainty for companies waiting for clear U.S. crypto regulations.
Democrats have already called for stronger exchange oversight following the recent Binance security incident.
And with the new Congress taking office in January, the industry could face a very different political environment.
For now, this could create another setback for crypto, especially when the market is already struggling.
But that doesn't mean the bull run has been cancelled.
Crypto has grown through years of regulatory uncertainty, and I still think it'll be the best performing asset class in the coming decade.
