Bitcoin reclaims $80,000 as ETF inflows return and bearish positions unwind
Bitcoin held above $80,000 after Wednesday's rebound, helped by $74.6 million of net inflows into U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs that ended a three-day outflow streak. About 93% of the day's $267 million in BTC liquidations were shorts, suggesting the move was driven more by a squeeze than by aggressive new long positioning.

Mercado Bitcoin breach proves larger and longer-lasting than first disclosed
Bitquery told CoinDesk the Mercado Bitcoin attacker kept draining addresses for roughly four hours after the exchange said the breach was contained, and traced about $48.6 million across 10 blockchains. The report also linked a smaller Nov. 2 BitMart hack to the same attacker, extending worries about exchange security after the Binance theft.

Democratic sweep leaves U.S. crypto market-structure bill facing a likely reset
With Democrats taking both chambers, industry lawyers and executives told CoinDesk the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act is probably dead in its current form and may have to be rewritten in the next Congress. That points to a longer stretch of regulatory uncertainty for U.S. crypto market structure, even if narrower digital-asset measures can still advance.

Oil tumbles as midterm backlash raises hopes for an Iran off-ramp
Brent crude fell about $8 a barrel after the U.S. midterm results and a public post from Vice President JD Vance fueled expectations that Washington will face more pressure to de-escalate with Iran. Lower oil relieves some inflation pressure and helped underpin the risk-on move that lifted stocks and bitcoin.

Trump Media transfers 4,259 bitcoin, reviving questions over treasury liquidity
Wallets linked to Trump Media sent 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com from addresses labeled as collateral for convertible notes, renewing questions about whether the company is reducing its bitcoin treasury. The transfers do not prove a sale, but Trump Media recently disclosed it could need asset sales if noteholders demand cash repayment later this month.

🇫🇷 French crypto holders may soon have to declare self-custodied crypto worth €100,000 or more.
Under the new rule, French taxpayers would have to report crypto held in their own wallets, rather than on exchanges.
It would apply if those holdings total €100,000 or more on December 31, with fines of up to €10,000 for not declaring.
France’s National Assembly voted 150 to 44 to add it to the 2027 finance bill.
It is not law yet, as the Senate starts debating the bill on November 20.
Lawmakers also rejected a proposal to exempt crypto payments of up to €1,000 from tax.
