UK court steers $5 billion seized bitcoin fight toward Chinese law
|
|
A UK High Court judge ruled on October 12 that Chinese law should govern competing claims over more than 61,000 BTC seized by London police from the proceeds of a Chinese fraud case. The ruling does not decide final ownership, but it makes recovery harder for thousands of alleged victims and could improve the UK government’s chances of retaining a large share of the bitcoin.

Korean chip selloff triggers $800 million in crypto liquidations overnight
|
|
A sharp selloff in South Korean chip stocks helped trigger about $803 million in crypto liquidations over 24 hours, with bullish bets taking most of the damage. Bitcoin briefly fell below $81,000 before rebounding, underscoring how closely crypto remains tied to the AI and semiconductor risk cycle.

Dormant whale shifts $378 million in bitcoin after six years
|
|
A wallet that received 4,582 BTC in March 2020 moved roughly $378 million worth of bitcoin after more than six years of inactivity. The coins were split across five addresses and have not been sent to known exchanges, but the transfer is still a closely watched signal for potential supply overhang.

CFTC crypto rulemaking may run into the 2028 election calendar
|
|
TD Cowen said the CFTC’s newly proposed framework for leveraged and margined crypto trading may not be finalized until early 2028. That leaves the effort exposed to election-cycle politics and possible court challenges, keeping U.S. regulatory uncertainty alive despite a friendlier policy turn.

Capital Is Flooding Into The Physical AI Revolution
AI is stepping out of the digital screen and entering the physical world. Robotics VC deal activity hit all-time highs in early 2026, with investments climbing toward sixteen billion dollars across more than four hundred and fifty deals.
Driven by manufacturing labor shortages, aging workforces, and explosive tech breakthroughs from NVIDIA, Tesla, and a host of specialized component suppliers, automation is accelerating across factories and warehouses globally.
Whether you are looking at AI compute, machine vision sensors, motion control actuators, or humanoid robotics, the infrastructure buildout is happening right now. Download our comprehensive guide to discover the top investable robotics sectors and market drivers.
the ledger story just got 10x worse
it's not just southeast asia anymore. the same spy chips were just found inside ledgers bought from mediamarkt in europe
two different store locations. same modification. antenna. LTE module. identical setup
these weren't returns. the store confirmed they came directly from the distributor
the distributor? aqipa gmbh. they supply over 1,000 stores across 11 european countries
this means the compromise is happening BEFORE the devices reach the shelves
you walk into a legit electronics store. buy a ledger off the shelf. sealed box. receipt and everything
and there's a spy chip inside it
first it was a compromised reseller in southeast asia
this is no longer an isolated incident. this is a supply chain crisis

You hold $QUBIC because you believe mining can do useful work.
This week that work produced a headline every holder will repeat and almost nobody will read correctly.
Qubic miners trained a ternary neural network on one full year of hourly Bitcoin candles.
8,760 hours of data. About 2,920 wrong calls. Roughly 67% directional accuracy.
That is real progress on Useful Proof of Work. It is also not what most people think it is.
Here is what the 67% actually measures, and the four questions that decide whether it ever becomes worth anything.
1. Was it tested on data it never saw? The 67% comes from the same year of candles the network was trained to score well on. Backtests flatter every model, and live markets do not care how good the past looked.
2. How often does it say "unknown"? The network can answer up, down, or unknown. A model allowed to skip hard calls will always look sharper than one forced to pick a side.
3. What is it beating? Bitcoin's hourly direction sits close to a coin flip. The real test is how far above that baseline it stays once fresh candles arrive.
4. Does anyone pay for the answer? CfB has floated an idea where each prediction request burns roughly 5.9 billion QUBIC. It is a proposal under discussion, not a live product. If it ships and the calls hold, it becomes a demand sink tied directly to performance.
So the catalyst is not the 67%.
The catalyst is the first stretch of live hourly predictions, scored in public, on data nobody trained on.
If the edge survives that, this stops being a mining experiment and becomes a product people burn tokens to use.
If it decays toward 50%, you will have known before the crowd did.
Which way does it break?
Backtests sell tokens. Live results build networks. https://t.co/KEaAtXTqg1

Every $QUBIC holder will quote "67% accurate" this week.
Almost none of them can explain what it was accurate at.
That gap is exactly where people get fooled, in both directions.
Here is the plain version.
Qubic miners trained an AI on one year of hourly Bitcoin price moves.
Every hour it answers one question: will Bitcoin end the next hour higher, lower, or is it not sure?
It called the direction right about two times out of three.
A coin flip gets one out of two.
That sounds incredible at first glance. There is one catch the headline leaves out.
The AI was graded on the same year it studied.
Think of a student who scores 67% after practicing those exact exam questions all semester.
Impressive practice, but not proof.
And because it can answer "not sure", it gets to skip the hardest hours.
Fewer hard calls usually means a prettier score.
The real exam starts when it predicts hours that have not happened yet.
When live results arrive, watch two numbers:
Accuracy on hours it never studied. How often it says "not sure".
If accuracy stays clearly above 50% without hiding behind skips, the edge is real and the token burn idea finally has something to sell.
If it drifts back toward 50%, the backtest was flattering, and you will see it before the crowd does.
A headline is a promise.
The live scoreboard is the receipt.

bitcoin:native has bounced off the ETF cost basis.
Price spent most of this year below that level, and the May rally stalled right under it.
It has now held twice as support around $81.5k. Below it, the next major level is the True Market Mean at $77.5k. https://t.co/DI2uHb91S0

BTC Supply on Exchanges Continues to Shrink
“If buying demand continues to improve while exchange supply remains low, bitcoin:native could benefit from a supply-demand imbalance, creating favorable conditions for a longer-term upward trend.” – By @Satoureireal https://t.co/YkcqyjtscD

🔴 Why U.S. Institutions are selling BTC faster than Binance traders
Selling pressure on bitcoin:native from U.S. institutions and professional investors accelerated in October.
The Coinbase Premium Index has been deeply negative for several days, meaning BTC trades at a discount on Coinbase relative to Binance, a sign that downward pressure is stronger there.
Coinbase's professional platform is restricted to professional accounts, while Binance, the more accessible of the two, is used by all types of investors. The indicator therefore measures the gap in behavior between these two populations.
We use a volume-weighted version here, which reduces noise by giving more weight to the largest transactions when calculating the gap.
This signal suggests that U.S. institutions are selling significantly more than retail investors heavily present on Binance, a pattern consistent with the geopolitical and macroeconomic backdrop that professionals watch closely.
Bond yields are hitting record highs in several countries, and inflation persists, fueled by conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine that weigh on energy and transportation prices. Meanwhile, the DXY keeps climbing and has just reached its highest level since April 2025, above 102.
Taken together, these factors constrain the liquidity available to markets and erode institutional confidence, leaving them reluctant to take on more risk.
The climate is therefore unfavorable for Bitcoin, which is perceived as a highly risky asset, while tech (NDX) and the S&P 500, more mature markets, continue to surge and absorb what little liquidity remains.
