U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs log another outflow, but weekly balance stays positive
|
|
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded another daily net outflow on October 23, losing $137.9 million, led by BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC. Even with back-to-back redemptions late in the week, the five trading days still finished net positive overall, showing institutional demand has weakened but not fully reversed.

Netanyahu orders blockchain sanctions contingency plan as Israel braces for financial pressure
|
|
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has asked for a blockchain-based contingency plan to help the country withstand possible economic sanctions, including restrictions on banking access. The remarks stand out as a rare public signal that a government under geopolitical pressure is actively considering sanction-resistant financial rails.

Bitcoin Core shortens bug secrecy window as AI makes rediscovery easier
|
|
Bitcoin Core maintainers changed their security policy so vulnerabilities that an AI model could easily rediscover will no longer sit under long embargoes before disclosure and patching. The shift reflects how generative AI is changing the project’s threat model and could accelerate fixes across software that secures most of the Bitcoin network.

CoinDCX denies hack after analysts flag $16 million in suspicious outflows
|
|
CoinDCX said suspicious transfers totaling roughly $16 million flagged by blockchain sleuths were the result of a broken clean-up process rather than a wallet compromise. Even if no hack occurred, the episode puts exchange operational controls and reserve transparency back in the spotlight for crypto users and regulators.

BITCOIN ETFS DUMP $635 MILLION, LIQUIDATING $418 MILLION IN LONGS.
Oil prices topping $116 and U.S. Treasury yields hitting 5% triggered a mass exit from BlackRock and Fidelity, pushing BTC down to around $81k.
When they’re pumping it they call Bitcoin the inflation hedge, but the moment oil spikes and the economy actually tightens, institutions are the first ones dumping.

🇫🇷 JACK DORSEY'S BITCHAT HITS NO. 1 IN FRANCE AFTER A NATIONWIDE MOBILE OUTAGE
The offline messaging app topped France's App Store Social Networking chart on Thursday, ahead of Telegram and Signal, per Frandroid and iGeneration.
It came a day after Orange, France's largest carrier, lost its mobile network nationwide for nearly 10 hours.
French officials have also floated blocking social media in areas hit by protest looting.
Bitchat sends messages phone to phone over Bluetooth, with no internet, cell signal or account needed. Protesters are installing it ahead of Saturday's demonstrations.

⚠️ RESEARCH: Fusion reactors are going to crash the price of gold.
That’s the headline. Here are the numbers:
Marathon Fusion’s idea is real physics. Fire fusion neutrons at mercury and some of it turns into gold. Published, peer reviewed, nobody disputes it.
Then the math shows up...
A one gigawatt plant, on the optimistic models, makes 2 to 5 tonnes of gold a year. Global mines pull out 3,500 to 4,000 tonnes. One plant moves annual supply by about a tenth of a percent.
The feedstock is enriched mercury. About $15,000 per milligram. Gold trades near $135 per gram. You are loading the reactor with something 100,000x more expensive than what comes out of it.
And what comes out is radioactive. The bars sit in storage for 14 to 18 years before anyone can legally sell them. A plant switched on today delivers its first sellable ounce in the 2040s.
