Fed, ECB and BOJ meetings put Bitcoin markets on macro watch
|
|
Central bank decisions from the Federal Reserve, Bank of Canada, European Central Bank and Bank of Japan, along with U.S. GDP and PCE inflation data, dominate the week starting October 26. For bitcoin, the bigger swing factor is likely policy guidance for December rather than whether rates stay unchanged this week.

More than 11 million bitcoin remain outside any known ownership bucket
|
|
Galaxy Research data highlighted by CoinDesk shows about 11.1 million BTC, roughly 55% of mined supply, cannot be linked to exchanges, funds, governments or other known entities. The snapshot suggests self-custody and possibly lost coins still account for a huge share of bitcoin supply despite years of institutional accumulation.

Electrum flaw let rogue servers redirect fee-bumped bitcoin payments silently
|
|
A flaw in Electrum let malicious servers replace a just-broadcast transaction with a fake one and potentially trick users into approving a higher-fee version that paid the attacker. Electrum has shipped version 4.8.3, but users on older software remain exposed unless they upgrade or connect only to trusted servers.

Oil eases as Tehran diplomacy cools immediate Middle East market stress
|
|
Oil prices moved lower Monday after last week's surge as regional diplomacy picked up, with delegations from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey in Tehran and Qatari mediators also working to de-escalate tensions. The pullback eases some immediate inflation pressure, but Middle East risk remains a live macro overhang for bitcoin and broader markets.

South Korea may push crypto gains tax back to 2029
|
|
South Korea's presidential office is reportedly discussing a fourth delay to the country's planned crypto gains tax, which is currently due to start on January 1, 2027. Local reporting says officials may push implementation to 2029 to better align with the U.S. timeline under the OECD's crypto tax-reporting framework.

10 Stocks at the Center of AI’s $1 Trillion Boom
AI’s growth story is much bigger than chatbots.
The market was already valued at an estimated $800 billion by late 2025, and continued adoption could push it beyond $1 trillion in the years ahead. That growth will require more data centers, computing power, software, networking and intelligent devices.
But the most obvious AI names may not be the only companies positioned to benefit.
MarketBeat’s free 10 Best AI Stocks to Own in 2026 report identifies ten publicly traded companies helping power the next phase of the AI buildout. Some are established leaders. Others occupy less obvious corners of the expanding AI ecosystem.

🚨 Hackers just hijacked trades at 70 brokerages
Japan's GMO Internet Group has confirmed a major cyberattack on Onamae Desktop Cloud, a service many forex traders use to run automated trading software around the clock.
Up to 26,739 servers may have been exposed.
The attackers stole traders' login details and used them to place unauthorized trades across more than 70 brokerages.
In one case, an account lost around 2.4 million yen in about 84 seconds.
The hackers then demanded a $50 million ransom in crypto.
GMO refused to pay and has reported the attack to the police.
GMO began shutting down the affected servers on October 21.
Every user will receive 5,000 yen, along with full compensation for verified trading losses.
GMO shares fell almost 16% on Monday to a four month low. CEO Masatoshi Kumagai warned that the internet itself is starting to break down.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi held an emergency cybersecurity meeting on October 26.
This adds to a brutal month for cybersecurity.
Japan has already recorded 723 cyber incidents this year, and State Bank of India customer records surfaced on the dark web just last week.

🚨 IF YOUR CRYPTO PLATFORM OR WEBSITE IS STILL RUNNING A VULNERABLE PHP VERSION, YOUR FUNDS COULD BE AT SERIOUS RISK.
A hacker just demonstrated how dangerous the recently discovered PHP security flaws are by breaking into a server in just 19 hours.
Here's what happened.
A developer deliberately created a vulnerable PHP website, put real Bitcoin at stake and challenged the entire internet to hack it.
Whoever managed to exploit the vulnerability and recover the private key would win the Bitcoin.
The challenge was designed to test whether the newly discovered PHP security flaws were actually as dangerous as researchers warned.
In just 19.28 hours, someone successfully hacked the server and recovered the secret key.
The prize was 0.02511679 BTC, worth around $2,021.
This proves that the threat is real, not just another exaggerated security warning.
Attackers exploiting these flaws could potentially gain access to sensitive server data, including passwords, credentials and crypto private keys.
And if those keys are compromised, the funds they control could be stolen.
If you're using a crypto platform or service that relies on vulnerable PHP servers, you should take this warning seriously.

KEVIN WARSH IS HEADING INTO FOMC AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME.
The FOMC meeting is happening on Wednesday, and the Fed could trigger a massive market selloff regardless of what it says.
Both CPI and PPI have come in hotter than expected, while core inflation is also rising.
The U.S.-Iran war is pushing energy prices higher, adding even more pressure to inflation.
Meanwhile, the U.S. economy is showing signs of weakness.
The housing market is struggling, borrowing costs remain painfully high, and companies are cutting jobs.
The Fed now faces two major problems: rising inflation and a weakening economy.
And neither option looks good.
If the Fed stays too relaxed about inflation, bond yields could rise as investors worry that inflation is getting out of control.
If the Fed turns hawkish, stocks and crypto could sell off as markets price in higher interest rates and tighter financial conditions.
If the Fed signals rate cuts, investors could question why it's easing policy when inflation is still rising.
The Fed needs inflation to cool without causing more damage to the economy.
But right now, inflation is moving higher while economic conditions are getting weaker.
That's what stagflation is, and it's the worst possible outcome for an economy.
A single hawkish comment could send stocks lower, while a dovish surprise could create fresh concerns about inflation and send bond yields soaring.
So if the Fed fails to restore confidence, this meeting could become one of the most volatile and disastrous for the global markets.
