Bitcoin slips below $80,000 as Fed meeting de-risking hits crypto markets
|
|
Bitcoin fell back under $80,000 as traders reduced risk ahead of the Federal Reserve decision and broader crypto weakness spread across majors. The move reinforced how tightly near-term bitcoin positioning remains linked to rate expectations, liquidity fears and cross-market sentiment.

JPMorgan warns AI credit stress could spill into bitcoin and equities
|
|
JPMorgan said lenders are no longer funding AI companies on narrative alone and are increasingly demanding proof of cash flow and debt-service capacity. Rising credit-default-swap stress in AI-linked names matters for bitcoin because a sharper unwind in the AI complex could hit broader risk assets.

Keystone destroys nearly 19,000 wallets after customer-data breach exposes buyers
|
|
Keystone said a breach exposed 25,964 buyer records, including data that should have been deleted under its 180-day retention policy. The hardware-wallet maker plans to destroy nearly 19,000 unsold devices, a reminder that customer-data leaks can become a serious self-custody risk even when private keys are untouched.

Bitcoin is the only major asset class primarily held by individuals.
Bonds, stocks, and gold have existed for centuries. So naturally they are more institutionalized.
As bitcoin matures, we expect ownership to shift towards institutions. Its ownership distribution will look more similar to gold.
This is not necessarily a good or bad thing. It is simply the inevitable consequence of global adoption.

LIGHTNING LABS LAUNCHES WAVELENGTH ON BITCOIN MAINNET, ENABLING AI AGENTS TO MAKE AUTONOMOUS PAYMENTS
Lightning Labs has opened Wavelength to everyone, allowing AI agents to send and receive Bitcoin payments over Lightning without human approval for each transaction.
Agents can autonomously pay for API calls, purchase data, and transact with other agents for fractions of a cent using Lightning and L402, without credit cards, accounts, or API keys.
Developers can integrate payments into apps without running Lightning nodes, managing channels, or sourcing liquidity.
The self-custodial toolkit supports independent on-chain exits, with initial limits of 300,000 sats per wallet and a 0.25% service fee on Lightning payments.
Wavelength remains in alpha, with stablecoin support planned.

not only am i not worried about the crypto community's ability to handle the upcoming ai/quantum threat, i will venture to say that in the next 2 yrs the world will realize crypto is far better prepared for it than the rest of the internet and finance. we've had a trillion dollar *irreversible* honey pot for a decade, producing a far more battletested system and adversarial security culture than pretty much anywhere else on earth.
