Treasury drops self-custody and mixer reporting proposals in major U.S. crypto reset
FinCEN withdrew a 2020 proposal that would have forced banks and crypto firms to report transfers above $10,000 involving self-hosted wallets, and it also scrapped a 2023 proposal targeting crypto mixing. The move removes two long-running U.S. policy overhangs on self-custody and privacy infrastructure, marking a notable deregulatory shift for the domestic crypto market.

CFTC launches broad crypto market rulemaking after Congress stalls on market structure
The CFTC opened comment on a sweeping framework for leveraged retail crypto transactions and a new registration path for crypto asset markets. It is one of the clearest signs yet that U.S. agencies are moving to build federal crypto market structure with existing authority after Congress failed to finish the job.

Oil slips below $100 as emergency stock release cools immediate supply shock
Oil prices slipped as stronger Middle East export flows and a G7 emergency stock release eased near-term supply fears, even as Houthi attacks on Saudi targets kept geopolitical risk alive. For Bitcoin, softer crude helps relieve immediate inflation and rates pressure, but the energy shock is not fully gone.

Dalio warns foreign Treasury demand could fade as U.S. financing strains deepen
Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio warned that U.S. financing conditions could worsen if China and Japan pull back from buying Treasuries. That matters for Bitcoin because renewed stress in the world’s core bond market can ripple through dollar liquidity, volatility and the broader case for non-sovereign stores of value.

Strive buys 2,000 more bitcoin and closes the gap on MARA
Strive disclosed its biggest Bitcoin purchase since June, adding 2,000 BTC and lifting its treasury to 29,462 BTC. The buy shows corporate balance-sheet demand is still active near local highs and keeps competition intense among listed Bitcoin treasury companies.

$BTC The $85K level has been getting tested almost on a daily basis. Every time it tends to see some sort of reaction both as support and resistance.

Above, there's a lot of marginally lower highs sitting at $87K+. The same below with the $83K region.

I am expecting a squeeze to occur the moment either of these levels breaks.

CRAZY: πŸ’₯ A 10% Bitcoin drop from here would liquidate over $13 BILLION in longs.

Meanwhile, a 10% move higher would wipe out less than $4 BILLION in shorts. https://t.co/Z1gQLRsVmW

JUST IN: CFTC lists BTC, ETH, SOL, XLM, XTZ and XRP as examples of β€œdigital commodities.”

Under the CFTC/SEC taxonomy, digital commodities are generally NOT securities.

This could mean less SEC uncertainty, clearer oversight and an easier path for US crypto listings.

Compared to late August, the trend has clearly changed, and this is visible in the evolution of the Capital Cost Basis.

As I've already explained, this metric weights the realized price by purchase volume ($).

This gives more economic weight to bitcoin:native bought at higher prices.

While BTC was still struggling at this pivot point in late August, currently at $80 400, we have now closed above this level for several weeks.

This puts a majority of the invested capital in slight profit and makes investors a little more stable each day, which is welcome during this consolidation.
