Oil-driven selloff pushes bitcoin below $84,000 as liquidations surge across crypto
Bitcoin fell below $84,000 after Iran stepped up attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, sending Brent above $101 a barrel and lifting Treasury yields and the dollar. Liquidations climbed to about $547 million in 24 hours, even as U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs still logged a $119 million net inflow on Tuesday.

Fed minutes loom as softer data cools October hike odds, not December
Reuters reported that Wednesday's Fed minutes are expected to show a broader internal debate than the unanimous September rate hike suggested. Markets have largely priced out an October move after softer inflation and jobs data, but still see meaningful odds of another increase by December.

U.S. government shifts over $100 million in seized crypto, stirring sale fears
Wallets linked by Arkham to the U.S. government moved more than $100 million in seized crypto on Tuesday, including roughly 834 BTC and 40,285 BNB. The bitcoin ultimately reached Coinbase Prime deposit addresses, reviving sale speculation even though the transfers do not confirm a disposal.

Robinhood puts bitcoin on its balance sheet with a $25 million buy
Robinhood executive Johann Kerbrat said the company added about $25 million of bitcoin to its balance sheet to show commitment to the asset and broader ecosystem. The move adds another large public company to the corporate-treasury bid as Robinhood expands perps, tokenized stocks and its own Layer 2 network.

Bitcoin cost-basis bands now frame support near $82,300 and resistance at $88,000
CoinDesk's cost-basis analysis shows the 2025 buyer cohort still underwater around $88,000, creating a likely resistance zone on rebounds. On the downside, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs now carry an average cost basis near $82,300, a level that may act as support if the pullback deepens.

Whoever sold Bitcoin chose to perfectly time it with the announcement of the US Gov depositing $BTC into coinbase prime.

Right at the same time order books are at their thinnest

To dump through a LTF support area

Of a HTF area of importance (sub 83k people worry)

Right after S&P500 hits ATH

And I'm supposed to consider this organic price action and not just blatant market manipulation?

Lol

$ETH Crazy amount of Open interest piling in after the move.

Funding turned negative but spot selling also pretty rampant at the same time. Mixture of longs longing the dip and shorts piling onto the downside momentum.

Price unchanged for the past few hours so one side is bound to get squeezed again soon on this.

$ETH did break down from its 2-3 week range with this move, so bears are in control until it starts retaking some levels.

Going to be a volatile rest of the week.

BREAKING: 🇺🇸 US 30-year bond yield just hit 5.7% for the first time since 2002.

Back then, inflation was only 1.2%, the Fed funds rate was 1.75%, and the stock market was already in a crash, about 40% below its peak.

Today inflation is almost 3 times higher at 3.4%, and stock market is at all time high.
